SIPP Information Letter 2-23-05

Dear BellSouth Employee:

 

As you know, the process for requesting SIPP is changing as a result of Bargaining. The new process will be mechanized and will be accessed through Careers at BellSouth. The new process will take place March 1, 2005.

Currently, your work location is one that does not have readily available internet access at work. Until such access is available, the Staffing Organization has developed an alternative process for submitting and revoking your SIPP request. This process and form are intended for use only by employees who receive this notification.

If you desire to submit either acceptance of SIPP or cancellation of an existing SIPP lock in, fill out the attached form and fax to 205-298-6736. All activities must take place between the first day and the last day of March, June, September and December. Staffing will ensure that any form received by midnight (ET) of the listed months will be entered into the system.

It is important to note that YOU ARE NOT PROHIBITED from using the Careers at BellSouth system to access the mechanized SIPP form. It will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from anywhere you can access the internet – your home computer, a local library, or another BellSouth location, to name a few. The Internet address is www.bellsouth.com/careers.

Enclosed is a copy of your request form. Please make additional copies for your use, if necessary. If you have questions regarding the process or need assistance in submitting a request, you may call 205-298-6686.

REMINDER

This form is for use only by employees who received notification from Staffing of their eligibility to use the alternative SIPP process. You must use a separate form for each request you submit. Your status at midnight (ET) the last nights of March, June, September and December will be the final status for consideration for the following quarter. Please keep a confirmation of each fax that you submit in the designated month for each quarter.
