NDA/CA Tentative Agreement
The following is the final
bargaining report which was tentatively agreed to by CWA and BellSouth
ND/CA:

Signing Bonus - $275.00
ARTICLE 3 - Pay and Basis of Compensation
►Coaching differentials
were raised from $2.50 to $3.00 per session.
►Multi-lingual differentials were added at $1.00 per session.
►Night differentials of .15 cents per hour for all time actually
worked after 12:00 midnight and ending at or before 6:00 a.m.
►Holiday pay raised from time and half to double time.
ARTICLE 4
Add four (4) weeks of vacation for employees with 15 years or more of
service. Also, when call demand allows, employee will not be scheduled to
work the Saturday before or the Sunday after a segment of vacation.
ARTICLE 5 – Personal Paid
Time
►Three (3) additional
personal days added – one paid, and two unpaid, for employees having
six (6) months of seniority on January 1 of any given year. One of these
days must be scheduled. Any personal day may be taken in one-hour
increments.
►One unpaid day will also be granted to employees obtaining six
(6) months of seniority within a given year.
ARTICLE 8 – PROMOTION AND
TRANSFER PLAN
All vacancies will be posted via the staffing system and after six (6)
months employees may submit ten (10) requests to staffing for jobs in BST.
ARTICLE 14 – RECORDS
►Removal of entries
without intervening disciplining actions for the same subject matter:
►Counseling from 1 year
to 6 months
►Warning from 3 years to 24 months
►Suspensions from 5 years to 3 years
►Agreement was also
reached to allow employees a copy of all entries as they go into their
records.
DEATHS
►Employees shall be
guaranteed pay for the day of funeral for immediate family, defined as
wife, husband, daughter, son, mother, father, sister, brother,
grandmother, grandfather, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law,
daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandchildren,
stepchildren, and step parents.
►Two days Shall be
guaranteed for spouse or child and additional paId or unpaid time may be
granted at supervisors discretion based on extenuating circumstances.
JURY/WITNESS DUTY
No loss of pay for time consumed in jury or witness duty, and no deduction
shall be made for monies received from civil authorities.
ELECTIONS
Employees shall suffer no loss of pay for time lost for service at polls.
VOTING
No loss of pay for time lost in voting. (Intent pay only if due to work
schedule employee is unable to vote before or after work.)
PENSIONS
Increase pension bands from $5.00 per month, per year of service to $10.00
per month, per year of service.
LANGUAGE CHANGES:
►Article 2 - Language to
guarantee two-week posting of schedules.
►Language to allow
Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, Mother’s Day, and Easter to be
rotated as if they were holidays for the purpose of scheduling.
►Language to prohibit
supervisor from performing craft work.
►Renewed and updated the
letter that prohibits contracting of ND/CA work for the life if the
agreement.
BENEFIT CHANGES:
►Premiums for BellSouth Medical Expense Plan were reduced 30% as
follows -
a.) Two-party from $86.00 to
$60.00
b.) Family coverage $136.00 to
$95.00
►The Company also agreed to
a Short Term Disability Plan (STD) which allows 26 weeks of half-pay after
the first seven calendar days of absence.
►Employees may also now
participate in the STD Leave of Absence.
SAVINGS AND SECURITY PLAN
A 25% match by the Company will be
made for employees who wish to participate in the 401K Savings and
Security Plan.

Availability for career counseling and customized courses under Employment
Security Partnership.
