Greetings:

After much debate and discussion tonight, we have reached a Tentative Agreement with Avaya on a new three year contract.  Details will be sent out early next week.  Below are highlights of the agreement.

Following are the highlights of the new tentative Agreement with Avaya.

bullet3 year Agreement 
bullet3% general wage increase each year retroactive to May 28
bullet4% increase on the pension bands effective July 1, 2006  
bulletLump sum distribution option in pension.
bulletAdditional beneficiary options for pensions
bulletNo medical premiums for active or retirees for the life of the Agreement 
bulletOne year no layoff provision for Technical titles
bulletOne year watermark for Care Center Titles
bulletCertification Program with payments
bulletSales Referral program guaranteeing work for our members
bulletImprovements in other programs such as Savings plan, Avaya Performance Award, Academic Awards, Supplemental Life Insurance
bulletAlliance funding to continue plus additional funding for the certification program
bulletIncreases in allowances in Article 16
bulletIncreased minimum relocation allowance in Article 24 and in the Transfer Plan
bulletAdded Scheduling Language to all functional articles
bulletAll core benefits applied to members at Brandon, FL Telesales location 
bulletAdded Domestic Partner Benefits for opposite sex domestic partners

We would like to thank all the Locals for their support and mobilization efforts.

We will announce the date of the contract explanation meeting early next week.
